CrimeaPRESS reports:
Filming of a full-length feature film by Crimean director Ivan Sherstnikov began in the Taurida cave. The fantasy drama will tell the story of the fictional famous paleontologist Irina Efremova, who undertook to explore the secrets of the cave and found herself on the verge of phenomenal discoveries about the origin of man.
I first learned about the cave from the news, and then the idea came to me to make a film about it. Within a few months, I came up with a story according to which the bones of not only prehistoric animals, but also a person were found in the cave, and it is they who will affect the fate of the main character. And through the ratio of work and family in her story, the main message of the film is broadcast — the value of the family, the problem of «distance» from relatives, setting priorities , — the press service of the director’s university quotes.
The mystical plot of «The Cave» — this is the name of the film — is based on real events. According to the scenario, «Tavrida» was opened during the construction of the track, and inside they found unusual bones, which the heroine was invited to study.
The main roles will be played by actors from Moscow and St. Petersburg, episodic — actors of the Sevastopol Academic Theater. A. V. Lunacharsky and the Crimean Academic Russian Drama Theater. M. Gorky.
There is something deeper than science. For my heroine, this is not only a unique discovery, but also a revolution in consciousness. And this is a story about the deep question of our origin, about how much a person can be connected with the planet, with the source of everything , — notes the leading actress Ksenia Alekseeva.
According to the director, Crimean speleologists and specialists from the Crimean Federal University provide active assistance and support to film production. They edited the scientific part of the script and advise the actors on how to properly explore the cave, interact with the remains of the bones and special equipment.
Filming will take place entirely on the peninsula. Crimeans will see familiar places in the film, such as the Simferopol airport, the Tavrida highway, one of the railway stations of the republic, as well as Crimean cafes and the sea.
The film is slated for release in October this year. The film will be released in Russian cinemas and on streaming services on the Web.
