A large natural fire in Koktebel, which engulfed the Karadag Nature Reserve on Monday, has been extinguished. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

In total, about 300 specialists and more than 30 units of equipment were involved from the RSChS during the entire period. Two Mi-8 helicopters from the Russian Emergencies Ministry and the Russian National Guard worked on the scene.
On July 16, the fire was localized on an area of 40 hectares. On July 17, open burning was extinguished. It seemed that the fire was extinguished. However, the next day, firefighters continued to fight the fire. Extinguishing the «landscape» fire was complicated by hot weather, gusts of wind, and hard-to-reach mountainous forest terrain.
