Financing of shared construction by banks increased in Crimea over the year

CrimeaPRESS reports:

In the Republic of Crimea, the amount of existing loan agreements with developers who use escrow accounts for settlements under agreements for participation in shared construction increased by 2.2 times over the year and amounted to 121.8 billion rubles as of August 1, 2023. At the same time, since the start of the project financing system for commissioned facilities, developers have already received almost 23.5 billion rubles from opened escrow accounts.

Shared construction is quite in demand among Crimeans and continues to be actively used as a convenient and reliable tool for acquiring housing., — quotes the press service of the head of the Branch of the Bank of Russia in the Republic of Crimea Igor Tsvetkov. — For example, over 7 months of this year, almost 2.5 thousand escrow accounts were opened in the region, which is more than 5 times higher than this figure for the same period last year.

Let us recall that the money on the accounts of participants in shared construction in the amount of up to 10 million rubles is protected by the Deposit Insurance Agency. Funds of citizens on escrow accounts become available to developers only after the facility is put into operation.
