Fire in hard-to-reach mountain forest area near Sudak is being extinguished

Firefighters of the Morskoye Fire Department of the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea «Fire Protection of the Republic of Crimea» together with units of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and employees of the forestry and hunting sector are extinguishing a forest litter fire in the area of the village of Voron.
Firefighting efforts are complicated by strong, gusty winds and persistent hot weather. The preliminary area of the fire is 10 hectares. Two Mi-8 helicopters of the Russian Emergencies Ministry are working at the site. The aviation has already dropped water 7 times. A total of 149 people and 29 units of equipment from the Russian Emergencies Ministry have been deployed to extinguish the fire.— the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in Crimea reported.

During the special fire-prevention regime, it is strictly forbidden to burn dry grass, garbage and conduct fire-hazardous work within the boundaries of rural and urban settlements, urban districts, gardening and vegetable gardening non-profit partnerships, at enterprises, on lands of all categories, with the exception of work carried out by specialized organizations for the purpose of preventing forest fires. At the same time, violation of fire safety requirements in forests and in areas directly adjacent to forests is prosecuted by law.
