Fire in Simferopol: a short circuit in the electrical panel almost caused the death of a child
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Last evening turned out to be turbulent for residents of the Marshal Zhukov Street area in Simferopol.
A message about a fire in the electrical panel on the 10th floor of a 14-story residential building was received by the operator on duty at the beginning of nine in the evening. Two branches of the Specialized Unit of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea were sent to the indicated address.
Upon arrival at the scene, it was determined that the entire entrance was engulfed in acrid smoke. Some residents left their apartments on their own; another thirty people, including a 70-year-old woman with limited mobility, were evacuated by Russian Emergency Situations Ministry employees. While the evacuation was taking place, an alarmed citizen ran up to the guard chief and reported that his 11-year-old daughter was left on the balcony. Their apartment was located next to the electric meter. Acrid smoke filled all the rooms, it was unbearable to breathe. The child ran out onto the balcony to escape the smoke— said the emergency department.
The combat crew as part of the GDZS unit entered the smoke-filled apartment and, using a self-rescuing mask, took the girl out into the street. An ambulance was called for the child to check for upper respiratory tract poisoning. Fortunately, the child did not require hospitalization.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, preventing the spread of fire and serious consequences.
