Fire-tactical exercises of the 4th rank of complexity took place in the largest hospital in Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
December 22, in the building of the Republican Clinical Hospital named after. ON THE. Semashko underwent fire-tactical exercises to eliminate a fire of increased complexity. Let us note that this is the largest medical institution in Crimea, with a hospital capacity of 1,310 beds. The total area of the 12-story medical center is 65 thousand square meters.
According to the tactical plan, the firefighters worked out the most difficult scenario for the development of events. The fire occurred in the electrical room on the third floor of the hospital building. Its cause was a short circuit in the battery installations, which resulted in the spread of flame throughout the electrical room and heavy smoke in adjacent rooms.
The first crews of the Simferopol garrison searched for conditional victims in smoke-filled areas. Thus, the GDZS units found two victims in the central hall of the 3rd floor, one victim in the administrative wing of the 4th floor, five people on the balcony of the 5th floor of the hospital and seven more victims locked in the urology department on the 8th floor. Everyone was evacuated to a safe zone by Russian Emergency Situations Ministry employees.
At the same time, the fight against simulated fire from different points, including with the help of high-altitude equipment, was practiced. More than 78 personnel were involved in extinguishing the fire, including 56 smoke and gas fighters and 19 units of fire equipment— said the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Crimea.
Elimination of a simulated fire on an area of 22 square meters. meters was successful. Rescuers managed to evacuate victims from the 4th, 8th and 12th floors using combined methods using stretchers and firefighting elevators.
Today’s exercises are practical testing of situations that may occur at a given facility. This year we already responded to a fire in a medical facility, so we worked out fire conditions that were as close to reality as possible. The units were in places of permanent deployment, so they moved along the roads, taking into account traffic jams and all the features of the route,” noted Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Republic of Crimea Andrey Pavlyuchenko.
According to him, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees pay special attention to interaction with the administration of the facility, knowledge of the features, location of patients with limited mobility, evacuation rules, rules for using primary fire extinguishing equipment, and meetings of our units. All this affects the timeliness of assistance and the successful outcome of extinguishing a fictitious or real fire.
