Employees of police department No. 2 “Kyiv” of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Simferopol checked operational information about the involvement of a 21-year-old local resident in the theft of spare parts for various technical devices. As reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea, during operational search activities, employees of the criminal investigation department identified and detained a previously unconvicted suspect — a first-year student at KFU. Vernadsky.
The police found that from September last year to January this year, the young man, while on the premises of the university, stole spare parts for various technical devices, two SSD drives, 3 cameras, a sound card, a video card, a laptop, a USB hub, a lapel (micron) , 3 laser tag guns, 2 rechargeable batteries for the camera, soldering iron. The total amount of damage is more than 400 thousand rublesthe police said.
It was established that the suspect sold part of the stolen goods on Internet sites and spent the money received on his own needs. As the detainee explained to the police, he committed thefts for material gain.
The investigative department of OP No. 2 “Kyiv” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Simferopol initiated criminal cases on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 and Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft). The suspect faces a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to 5 years. Measures are being taken to establish the young man’s involvement in similar cases of illegal activity.
