Flu vaccine campaign launched in Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Crimea, as well as throughout the country, a flu vaccine campaign has started. Immunization against influenza is the most effective means of preventing the disease and is carried out annually before the start of the seasonal rise in the incidence.
To ensure population immunity, it is necessary to vaccinate at least 60% of the adult and child population. Thus, in 2023, it is planned to vaccinate 1,092,000 people against influenza in the Republic of Crimea, including 280,506 children, 811,494 adults— quotes the press service of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Crimea Konstantin Skorupsky.
As a reminder, influenza immunization is recommended for all population groups, but is especially indicated for the following categories:
- children from 6 months, students of grades 1-11;
- students in professional educational organizations and educational institutions of higher education;
- adults working in certain professions and positions (employees of medical and educational organizations, transport, public utilities);
- pregnant women (II-III trimester);
- adults over 60;
- persons subject to conscription for military service;
- individuals with chronic diseases, including lung disease, cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders and obesity.
This year, Crimean medical organizations will use domestic preparations Ultrix quadrivalent, Sovigripp, and Grippol quadrivalent to immunize the population against influenza. These vaccines reliably protect against influenza strains that experts predict will circulate in the upcoming epidemic season.— says the head of the Crimean Ministry of Health.
You can get immunized at the nearest clinic, addresses of vaccination points available on the website of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea. For organized vaccination of labor collectives at the workplace, heads of organizations or enterprises should contact the administration of the nearest polyclinic for a preliminary agreement on the date of departure of the mobile team of medical workers.
We call on Crimeans to protect their health through immunization. Vaccination will reduce the risk of getting the flu, and in case of infection, avoid serious complications and consequences of the disease. Most often, influenza causes complications from the respiratory system, ENT organs, the cardiovascular system and the nervous system.— notes Konstantin Skorupsky.
