The prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Crimea is conducting an inspection in connection with the restriction on July 7 of electricity and water supply to subscribers in the city of Evpatoria. For several hours, the resort town was left without electricity and water (the de-energized water station also did not work). One way or another, from six o’clock in the evening over 2,300 subscribers, to put it mildly, experienced inconvenience and «cut off the telephones» of emergency and utility services.

The State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea «Krymenergo» called the cause of the emergency power outage the heat.

On July 7, 2023 at 18:09, against the background of the impact of abnormally high temperatures on the equipment, a technological failure occurred in Evpatoria at a 110 kV substation, which is under reconstruction. Disconnected load was 8.2 MW— noted in Krymenergo.

Repair work was completed by 20:30. But this did not affect the course of the prosecutor’s check. Trials are still ahead.

The prosecutor’s office of the city will evaluate compliance with the requirements of the law in the provision of services to the population, the timeliness of repairs, as well as the work of emergency servicesthe prosecutor’s office said.
