The prosecutor’s office of the Kirov region of Crimea supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a previously convicted 44-year-old local resident. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft), part 1 of Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving a vehicle while intoxicated by a person brought to administrative responsibility for a similar act).
The court found that at the beginning of August 2023, a man, having been brought to administrative responsibility for driving a vehicle while intoxicated, after drinking alcohol, while at the place of residence of his friend, without her consent, took the key to her Lada Priora car. . While driving a car along one of the streets in the village of Zhuravki, a man lost control of the car and drove into a roadside ditch, followed by a collision with a tree.— said the prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Crimea.
The court, taking into account the opinion of the prosecutor, sentenced the convicted person to 1 year of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive all types of vehicles for 2 years and 6 months. He will serve his sentence in a maximum security penal colony. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
