For valiant service: veterans of the penitentiary system were awarded in Crimea

In Simferopol, in the House of Officers, a solemn event was held for veterans and current employees of the penitentiary department, as well as members of their families, dedicated to the celebration of Veteran’s Day of the penitentiary system.

Officially, veterans of the penitentiary system celebrate their holiday annually on November 16th. For many of those who have dedicated their lives to working in the penal system, this is one of the most long-awaited and dearest days on the calendar. Opening the event, Deputy Head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol Vladimir Kamyshnikov congratulated the heroes of the occasion present in the hall on their professional holiday. He thanked the veterans for their active citizenship, participation in solving official problems and public life of the department, as well as for their invaluable contribution to the education of young employees, with whom they generously share their professional knowledge and rich life experience, filled with examples of perseverance and self-sacrifice. At the same time, the head noted that veterans of the penal system are an excellent moral guide for the younger generation of employees, and wished them good health, prosperity and inexhaustible energy,” noted the department’s press service.

After the welcoming words, a solemn award ceremony took place, during which departmental awards were presented to veterans for their many years of service in the penal system, active participation in the veterans’ movement, as well as for their work in the military-patriotic education of youth: medals, certificates of honor and gratitude, and also awards from the Crimean Republican Union of Veterans and Disabled Persons of War, Labor, Military Service and Law Enforcement Agencies.
