Forest fire near Sudak extinguished. Preliminary cause of emergency named
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Crimean firefighters, Emergencies Ministry rescuers, foresters, National Guard officers, volunteers… together they put out a large-scale forest fire near Sudak. The fire covered over 15 hectares.
The fire was put out by strong winds and persistent hot weather, but despite this, the fire was not allowed to spread to the settlement (the village of Voron)– noted the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea.
Eight units of the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea «Fire Protection of the Republic of Crimea», employees of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and forestry and hunting workers were dispatched to extinguish the fire. Two Mi-8 helicopters from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia and the Russian National Guard were on site.
In total, 57 units of equipment and 255 people were involved in extinguishing the fire from the RSChS, including 5 units of equipment and 31 personnel from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea.
Preliminary, the cause of the landscape fire was… a campfire left unextinguished by tourists.
