Former Chairman of the City Council of Yevpatoria Olesya Kharitonenko “abused her official powers”

The verdict of the court is two years in prison and almost two and a half million «damages».
The City Court of Yevpatoria issued a guilty verdict against Olesya Kharitonenko, who previously held the position of head of the municipality — chairman of the Yevpatoriya City Council.
The court established that in 2016, the convict, out of personal interest, organized and directed the abuse of power by officials of the administration of the city of Evpatoria of the Republic of Crimea, who, on her instructions and under her leadership, committed actions to illegally change the type of permitted use of the land plot on the territory of the municipality.
The actions of the convicted person were qualified under part 3 of article 33, part 3 of article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation as organizing the commission and directing the execution of a crime — abuse of power, i.e. the use by officials of their official powers contrary to the interests of the service, from other personal interests, which entailed a significant violation of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, legally protected interests of society and the state, grave consequencesaccording to the press service of the court.
Kharitonenko was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 2 years in a penal colony of general regime, with the deprivation of the right to hold positions related to the exercise of organizational, administrative, administrative, economic and financial powers in the public service and in local governments for a term of 2 years.
Also, the court verdict satisfied the civil claim of the deputy prosecutor of the city of Evpatoria. 2,347,200.86 rubles were recovered from the convict in favor of the municipal formation of the urban district of Evpatoria of the Republic of Crimea in compensation for the material damage caused by the crime.
Until the execution of the sentence in part of the civil claim, the arrest of the property of the convict was maintainedthe court said.
With regard to the convicted person, a measure of restraint in the form of detention was chosen before the entry into force of the verdict. The verdict of the court did not enter into force.
