Former head of Crimean Railways sentenced

The court sentenced the former general director of the Crimean Railway Gennady Frolov to five years and two months in a general regime penal colony, finding him guilty of committing official crimes. This was reported by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Crimea and Sevastopol.

The former CEO of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise «KZhD» was found guilty of abuse of office causing grave consequences and embezzlement of entrusted property using his official position, as well as on a large scale (paragraph «c» of Part 3 of Article 286, Part 3 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea sentenced him to 5 years and 2 months of imprisonment in a general regime penal colony. The convicted person is also obliged to compensate the damage caused to the enterprise in the amount of more than 110 million rubles.— the message says.

It was established that from December 2020 to July 2021, Frolov, in the position of General Director of the Crimean Railway, without design and estimate documentation, gave illegal instructions to perform work on the cargo and loading and unloading platforms at the expense of the enterprise. As a result, the platforms no longer met the established requirements and were technically limited for further work. Frolov was detained by employees of the republican department of the FSB of Russia in June 2022.
