Russian President Vladimir Putin launched the Year of the Family during the “Relatives and Loved Ones” forum. The ceremony took place at the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia” at VDNKh in Moscow. As the head of state noted, the main purpose of the family is the birth of children, continuation of the family, and therefore the continuation of the people and their centuries-old history.

Our culture, identity, and national character are rooted in the family. The family teaches, educates, passes on traditions, knowledge, including professional experience. In all Russian regions there are famous dynasties — military personnel, engineers, steelworkers, doctors, teachers, cultural figures. Families and people of different nationalities remain faithful to their chosen calling. And they are proud of their work. There are also many such dynasty families on your forum. More than a thousand active, active, enterprising people came here. During his speech, the President added that the family should be at the center of all state policy.

Any difficulties can be overcome when such a huge country is united, and any goals can be achieved when we are together,” notes Vladimir Putin.

The All-Russian Family Forum “Relatives — Loved Ones”, held from January 19 to 23, became the first official event of the Year of the Family in Russia. It was attended by representatives of family dynasties from 89 regions of the country, large families, families of members of the Northern Military District, Heroes of Russia.

Sevastopol was represented at the forum by the Elizarov dance family. Vadim Albertovich Elizarov and his wife Nina Borisovna Marsheva founded the Dance Theater in the city more than 20 years ago. It became the first choreographic theater in the world, whose work is based on the vocabulary of ballroom dance. Vadim Elizarov’s business is continued by his son Alexander and his wife Natalia. Alexander Vadimovich heads the theater, and his wife is the leading stage master and chief choreographer. The grandchildren have followed in the family footsteps; they are also learning choreographic skills.

The color of all these amazing families, their national differences, their pride in the region they represent is amazing.
