Found a gun in a trash container… In Feodosia, a man was convicted of murdering a friend

The Feodosia City Court of the Republic of Crimea sentenced a local resident for committing a murder that he committed in the spring.
It was established that in April 2023, the defendant, while in the yard of his household, in a state of alcoholic intoxication, due to sudden personal hostility caused by a quarrel with a previously acquaintance of the victim, took a hunting rifle, model TOZ-54, 12 gauge, manufactured industrially , equipped with a 12-gauge hunting cartridge, and deliberately shot at the victim, causing the latter a gunshot, shotgun, penetrating, blind wound (the defendant found the gun in a garbage container several months before the murder, and appropriated it for himself). The victim died at the scene of the incident, — the details of the case were announced to the press service of the court.
At the court hearing, the defendant fully admitted his guilt in the crime. When pronouncing the sentence, the court took into account information about the personality of the defendant, who has no previous convictions, has mediocre characteristics at his place of residence, is a pensioner, has unsatisfactory health conditions, and has previously been convicted of a similar crime. The court recognized confession, active contribution to the detection and investigation of the crime, admission of guilt, remorse for the crime, poor health, and old age as mitigating circumstances. The court recognized the circumstances aggravating the defendant’s punishment as recidivism of crimes, which, in accordance with paragraph “b” of Part 3 of Art. 18 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation refers to especially dangerous recidivism of crimes; committing a crime while intoxicated due to alcohol consumption using a weapon. Taking into account the circumstances of the case, the court sentenced the man to 12 (twelve) years and 6 (six) months of imprisonment, to be served in a special regime correctional colony.
The verdict did not enter into legal force.
