Four Yalta mansions officially received the status of cultural heritage sites
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Karelia Tatyana Manezhina signed the corresponding orders on the inclusion of four historical mansions of Yalta in the register of cultural heritage sites.
Four historic mansions in Yalta have officially become cultural heritage sites of regional significance and have been included in the register of cultural heritage sites by order of the Minister of Culture of Crimea. These are the House of the doctor and public figure S.Ya. Elpatyevsky on Lesi Ukrainka, 12, the mansion — the Meller-Zakomelskys’ country house on Khalturina, 11, the mansion of Natalia Aleksandrovna Depp, also known as the «Chernomor Castle» on Pavlenko, 5 and the Govalo merchants’ apartment building — also known as the «Grey Drozdy» dacha. Each is unique, has its own history, — said the head of the Yalta administration, Yanina Pavlenko.
For example, the house of Doctor Elpatyevsky was a real cultural center of Yalta – Chekhov, Tolstoy, Vernadsky, Gorky, Bunin, Kuprin and other outstanding personalities visited it.
Yanina Pavlenko recalled that earlier all 4 objects received the intermediate status of newly identified cultural heritage sites, which is necessary to guarantee their preservation during the historical and cultural examination. Upon its completion, the modes of use were approved for each mansion, boundaries and protective zones were established.
In total, the list of identified cultural heritage sites in Yalta as of early August includes 66 objects. These are not only palaces and mansions, but also fountains, monuments, sculptures, and Soviet bus stops. We are waiting for decisions on them as well. I thank the Department of Architecture and Urban Development, the staff of the Historical and Literary Museum, researcher Larisa Lysova for their important and necessary work in preserving cultural heritage, and the Ministry of Culture of Crimea, headed by Tatyana Anatolyevna Manezhina and her deputy Andrey Olegovich Rostenko, who oversees the direction, for the decisions taken, — concluded Yanina Pavlenko.
