Fourteen fires. The Ministry of Emergency Situations told how the first days of the New Year holidays passed in Crimea

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Over the past holidays from January 1 to January 2, 2024, 14 fires were registered in Crimea, of which 5 were fires of dry vegetation. There were no casualties.

The main causes of fires were violation of fire safety rules when using electrical equipment, as well as careless handling of fire. No fires were registered due to violation of the rules for the use of pyrotechnics— reported the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea.

The emergency department noted the positive dynamics in 2023 in reducing the number of man-made fires and deaths from them.

Thanks to the professionalism and dedicated work of fire and rescue units, more than 100 human lives and material assets worth more than 50 million rubles were saved during the fires. The forces and means of the territorial fire and rescue garrison of the Republic of Crimea extinguished more than 3,500 fires— reported the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea.

Crimean rescuers draw the attention of guests and residents of the peninsula to the need to comply with fire safety measures: burning stoves should not be left unattended, and this also applies to electrical equipment connected to the power grid. Garlands must be unplugged at night. Pyrotechnic products must be used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

In the event of an emergency, call 101 or 112.
