The Crimean climbed to the highest step of the podium in the weight category up to 74 kg. Anzor Zakuev had three fights at the tournament – and won all of them. In the quarterfinals, our fellow countryman defeated Fazilddin Nasritdinov from Uzbekistan (11:3), in the semifinals he defeated Dzhabrail Gadzhiev from Azerbaijan (5:3), and in the final he defeated Murat Dzhakupov from Kazakhstan (2:0). We also note the victory of the Master of Sports of Russia Malik Shavaev (first on the right in the photo) in the up to 86 kg category. Until 2024, Malik represented Crimea— reports «Crimean sport».
In total, in the freestyle wrestling competitions at the BRIC Games, the Russian team won 10 medals — 9 gold and 1 bronze.
