Freestyle wrestlers from Crimea win five medals at the Ivan Yarygin International Tournament in Krasnoyarsk

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Crimean wrestlers won five medals at the XXXIII International Tournament in Freestyle and Women’s Wrestling Grand Prix «Ivan Yarygin». Competitions from 14 to 14 January were held in Krasnoyarsk at the Sports Palace named after Ivan Yarygin.

For the second year in a row, the winner in the weight category up to 92 kg was the master of sports of international class Guram Chertkoev from Alushta (coaches — Yuri Nartikoev and Taimuraz Kokoev). In qualifying, the Crimean in a bitter struggle defeated Arkady Panasyan representing Belarus (5:4), in the quarterfinals he confidently dealt with Tazhudin Mukhtarov from Dagestan (6:0), in the semifinals he defeated his fellow countryman Azamat Zakuev from Simferopol (5:3), and in the final — Tamerlana Tapsieva from North Ossetia-Alania (2:0). It is curious that last year in the decisive battle of the tournament Chertkoev met with the same opponent, and then finished it ahead of schedule. It should be noted that Azamat Zakuev eventually took fifth place, losing in the bronze medal match to the already mentioned Tazhudin Mukhtarov (1:4), — reports » Crimean Sport”.

The silver medalists of the tournament were Simferopol residents — international class master of sports Anzor Zakuev (up to 70 kg) and master of sports Malik Shavaev (up to 79 kg). Both wrestlers train under the guidance of Arsen Zakuev, Ignat Grek and Edem Muratov.

Anzor Zakuev in qualifying ahead of schedule defeated Dalaidorzh Zhigmedsuren from Mongolia (14:4), in the 1/8 finals he was stronger than Alan Kudzoev from North Ossetia — Alania (7:4), in the quarterfinals he defeated Magoma Dibirgadzhiev from Dagestan (5:4), and in the semifinals he defeated Ruslan Zhendaev from the Krasnoyarsk Territory (6:1), and only in the final fight lost to Viktor Rassadin from Sakha-Yakutia ( 4:9). Recall that four years ago Rassadin represented the Crimea.

Malik Shavaev defeated Gadzhimurad Alikhmaev from the Bryansk region (4:0) in the 1/8 finals, Akhmed Usmanov from Dagestan (5:2) in the quarterfinals, and Dmitry Zaynidinov from the Krasnoyarsk Territory (4:2) in the semifinals. But in the decisive battle, Shavaev could not cope with the bronze medalist of last year’s World Championship Radik Valiev from North Ossetia-Alania (1:3).

A pupil of the UOR (Krasnolesye, Simferopol region), master of sports of international class Soslan Khinchagov in the qualification category up to 125 kg on additional indicators (the fight ended with a score of 6:6) lost to Batsagnay Enkhtuvshin from Mongolia and dropped out of the fight for medals.

In the women’s tournament, the Crimeans have two bronze medals. Distinguished masters of sports Amina Tandelova (up to 59 kg) and Alina Kasabieva (up to 59 kg) from Simferopol.

Amina Tandelova (coaches — Ignat Grek, Valery Tedeev and Lena Khetagurova) defeated her compatriot Natalia Volzhanina (8:2) in the «small final» (battle for bronze), and Alina Kasabieva (coaches — Ignat Grek and Oleg Kudukhov) — Dilnaz Sazanov from Kyrgyzstan (carcass).
