From November 3 to 8, the International Educational Action “Great Ethnographic Dictation” is taking place.

From November 3 to November 8, 2023, the annual international educational event “Great Ethnographic Dictation” is taking place, which introduces the culture of the peoples living in Russia, and also allows you to assess the general level of ethnocultural literacy. Every year, residents of the Republic of Crimea actively join this action.

The dictation is held on the eve of National Unity Day in online and offline formats. The organizer of the Great Ethnographic Dictation is the Federal Agency for Nationalities. The regional coordinator of dictation in Crimea is the Republican Ministry of Education, Science and Youth.

Every year millions of residents of Russia and foreign countries take part in the action, regardless of age, education, religion and citizenship.

The dictation was first held in 2016, when 90 thousand residents of Russia took part in it. In 2022, more than 4 million people from 89 regions of the Russian Federation and 184 foreign countries tested their level of ethnographic literacy. In the Republic of Crimea, the action was supported by about 70 thousand participants.

The working languages ​​of the dictation are Russian, English, Spanish. Dictation participants will have to answer 30 questions: 20 — common to everyone; 10 — unique for each subject of Russia, and for foreign sites — dedicated to places associated with Russia outside the Russian Federation. The tasks for participants under 16 years of age consist of 20 federal questions. The maximum score for completing all tasks is 100. Completion time is 45 minutes.

In the Republic of Crimea, unique offline platforms will operate on the basis of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Crimea «House of Friendship of Peoples», the State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education of the Republic of Crimea «Crimean Engineering and Pedagogical University named after Fevzi Yakubov», as well as offline platforms in each municipal formation of the Republic of Crimea.

You can answer questions online from November 3 to November 8 on the official website www.miretno.ru. The correct answers to the tasks will be published on the dictation website until November 13, 2023.
