From October 19 to 23 in Sevastopol — Festival of cinema and television films with spiritual and moral content «St. Vladimir»

The festival “St. Vladimir” is held with the blessing of Metropolitan Tikhon of Simferopol and Crimea, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Government of Sevastopol and the command of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation. Also partners of the festival were the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation, the Sevastopol city branch of the Russian Geographical Society, the Sevastopol Wardroom, and the Museum-Reserve of the Heroic Defense and Liberation of Sevastopol.

The opening ceremony of the festival will take place in the retro cinema «Ukraine» on October 19, starting at 19:00.

The award ceremony will take place on October 22 at the Black Sea Fleet Officers’ House (Lenin St., 9), beginning at 18:30. The closing film will be the festival premiere of the documentary “Admiral Ushakov. Ascent» (dir. Sergey Lachin).

The jury is headed by director, screenwriter, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Yuri Kara. Special guests of the festival will be People’s Artist of Russia Viktor Sukhorukov, People’s Artist of Russia Svetlana Druzhinina, theater and film actress, director Anna Yanovskaya, Honored Artist Oksana Stashenko.

The performance of People’s Artist of Russia Viktor Sukhorukov «Chic Life» as part of the festival will take place on October 21 at 18:30 at the Drama Theater of the Black Sea Fleet. B. Lavreneva.

During the Saint Vladimir Film Festival, viewers will be treated to a rich program of films for family viewing. The competition program will feature 22 documentaries in three categories, as well as 12 feature films. In total, this year the selection committee accepted 312 applications for consideration, of which 176 were documentaries.

All films can be seen for free during the festival, from October 19 to October 23 in the retro cinema «Ukraine» (35 Lenina St.). The daily screenings start at 9:00, the daily film program ends at 21:10.

Screenings of the festival’s films will also take place in the Moscow cinema, in the Museum Historical and Memorial Complex «35th Coastal Battery», in the Maritime Library named after. Admiral M.P. Lazarev Sevastopol House of Officers of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation.

On October 23, from 12:00 to 17:00, a special program of films in the patriotic nomination “For the Motherland” will be shown at the Ukraina cinema. Also on October 23, at the Ukraina cinema, as part of the festival, there will be a film marathon of the Russian Geographical Society, starting at 18:30, and an exhibition of the winners of the Russian Geographical Society photo competition “The Most Beautiful Country”.
