Gas production in Crimea fell by 28% due to the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on drilling rigs

In June 2022, the Ukrainian military carried out three strikes on the drilling platforms of Chernomorneftegaz in the Black Sea. In total, there were 109 people on board, 3 were injured, 7 were missing. It was reported that work was suspended only on three Chernomorneftegaz platforms. A complete cessation of field exploitation has not previously been reported.
The volume of mineral production decreased by 28.1% due to the cessation of exploitation of all fields on the Black Sea shelf by the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea Chernomorneftegaz from June 2022says the text.
In May 2023, Deputy General Director of Chernomorneftegaz Oleg Grin reported that due to attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the company received a net loss of more than 1 billion rubles in the first quarter of 2023. Offshore production accounted for 90% of the company’s total production.
In June 2023, Chernomorneftegaz signed an agreement with the systemically important bank of Crimea, RNKB, to develop three natural gas fields on the peninsula with a total investment of 22 billion rubles. The implementation of the agreement will ensure gas production in the amount of up to 310 million cubic meters. m per year, gas condensate — up to 30 thousand tons per year.
