Geoecologist of KFU proposes to create a national park in the regions of the Azov coast
CrimeaPRESS reports:
To maintain the ecological situation in the territories of the regions of the Azov coast, state control is necessary, and possibly the creation of the Sivash National Park or new specially protected natural objects in these regions.
The issue of strategic planning for the development of coastal territories and the waters of the Sea of Azov, in my opinion, is an important and necessary part for all purposes, including the recreational opportunities of the region. Interest is connected, among other things, with the fact that the Sea of Azov has become inland and requires special attention from the state, where control of the environmental situation is also necessary. Until recently, the use of the biological resources of the Sea of Azov was extremely predatory: a huge amount of sturgeon and flounder were caught, which caused harm, including interfering with the reproduction of these species. In addition, the rivers flowing into the Sea of Azov carry out a huge amount of pollutants. This was observed earlier on the part of Ukraine due to the nearby industrial enterprises that did not have treatment facilities. We are faced with a number of inherited environmental problems. There was also a lot of good things: some of these territories were reserved, regular ornithological observations were made. It is necessary to preserve this region for posterity in proper ecological condition.— quotes the press service of the university, Associate Professor of the Department of Geoecology of the Crimean Federal University Alexander Lychak.
According to him, the scientists of the Crimean Federal University have accumulated a lot of experience: over the past 30 years, the university staff has completed more than 150 scientific projects in the field of ecology and strategic planning in the regions of the Azov coast. The topics of the projects concerned subject areas, including the ecology of landscapes, coastal and mountainous forest areas, analysis and assessment of the ecological state in various regions of the peninsula and other territories.
To improve the situation, a specialist from the Crimean Federal University proposed to develop not only the conservation area, but also the transport and recreational infrastructure, including the need to ensure the environmental safety of the operation of these facilities.
Recall that on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the federal executive and state authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as scientists and other specialists, are carrying out large-scale work to develop a strategy for the development of the Azov basin and the territories of the Azov coast, including the Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Crimea, the DPR, LPR, Rostov, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. The main goals of the strategy are the elimination of accumulated environmental damage, its restoration, as well as the efficient use of natural resources and coastal areas to solve the problems of the socio-economic development of the regions, including the fisheries and tourism complexes.
