On November 19, the international educational event “Geographical Dictation – 2023” took place in a tent in the Garden of Miniatures of the museum-reserve. The event was held for the third time on the territory of Tauride Chersonesos.
This project has been carried out by the Russian Geographical Society on the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin since 2015. The main goal of the event is to popularize and increase interest in the geography of our country. Students from the Ecotech+ school, a children’s art school, as well as the Sevastopol Center for Tourism, Local History, Sports and Excursions for Students came to test their knowledge at the museum-reserve. After all, the opportunity to write a Dictation in Tauride Chersonese attracts not only adults, but also young geography lovers— note the press service of Chersonese Tauride.
According to event participant Sofia Dibrova, holding such an event is a very good and useful idea:
The questions were interesting. In a short time we managed to travel throughout our country. It’s great that the museum-reserve provided the opportunity to participate in this event!
In addition to traditional questions on disciplines related to geography, this year guests of the museum-reserve answered questions on the topic “Man and Geography,” dedicated to the Year of the Teacher and Mentor. The participants of the action needed to use imaginative thinking, logic and erudition, but they successfully completed the task!
As a bonus, all participants of the “Geographical Dictation – 2023” were given an unusual and exciting excursion – “The Flora of Tauride Chersonesus”.
