Dear teachers! I sincerely congratulate you on Teacher’s Day!
Dmitry Ivanovich Mendeleev said: “All the pride of a teacher is in his students in the growth of the seeds he sows.” Agreeing with the great scientist, I will say that education is perhaps the most important stage in the life of every person. The development of a child as an individual, the choice of profession, and career growth in adulthood depend on the knowledge acquired at school. But the most important thing is that school teachers, in addition to knowledge, teach our children kindness, friendship, empathy, support and care for them.
Sevastopol has the strongest teaching staff. Today, our schools employ 3,297 teachers who teach 54,115 children — from toddlers to high school students. And the future of our country depends on you — what these guys will grow up to be, who they will become and what they can do for the Motherland.
Now in Russia a lot of attention is paid to school education, and in our city we are doing a lot to make the learning process comfortable for both teachers and children. We are renovating schools and purchasing new equipment. This year, one of the important events for Sevastopol took place — a children’s art school was opened in the historical and archaeological park «Tavrichesky Chersonese», classes have already begun. In rural areas, thanks to the national project “Education”, “Growth Point” centers are being created for additional study of natural and exact sciences.
Another long-awaited event, in my opinion: this year the Government of Sevastopol managed to move forward on the issue of constructing official housing for teachers. A project for the integrated development of the territories has already been developed, it will soon be signed — and according to this document, the developers who will work in the city will give away some of the apartments for our teachers.
This year has been declared the year of the teacher and mentor. And today I want to appeal to everyone who has dedicated their life to a great cause — education and raising children. Thank you for your work, for the knowledge that you give to schoolchildren, for the love and piece of soul that you invest in them. Happy holiday!
