Grenade launcher from Sevastopol: “Winning in a combat zone is the most desirable thing for each of us”

While performing one of the tasks, Artyom was seriously wounded by fragments of a mine dropped from an enemy drone. Willpower, unbending character and desire to live helped him reach his people.

In a critical situation, when your life hangs by a thread, motivation decides everything. Whether you overcome the threat or not depends on how strong it is. And my sons saved me, whose image was before my eyes at the most difficult moment. Guys who really need a father. Then I was seized by an all-consuming desire to live. It’s like in a movie, when on the edge the main thing for which you live becomes clear. I clearly realized that I did not come here to die. I came to fight the enemies of the Motherland. And not just fight, but win. So that my mother Rus’ and my children are not touched by such evil as Nazism. My grandfathers defeated fascism, and I have no right to let them down— recalls the “Architect”.

The exploits of the hero and his colleagues will forever remain in the memory of his relatives and all generations of Russians. Returning from the special operation zone, Artyom and a close family friend, member of the Union of Journalists of Russia Svetlana Zavgorodnyaya, wrote the story “Farewell words to my sons.” The story was included in the all-Russian collection “Heroes are not born. For the Motherland!”, the ceremonial presentation of which will take place on February 28 on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow.
