“Guilty without wine.” A whiskey lover from Sevastopol will repent and blame himself in court

Sevastopol police detained a suspect in an attempt to steal whiskey from a store. The moment of the crime was recorded by CCTV cameras installed in the trading floor.

In the evening, a drunk 41-year-old resident of Sevastopol came to the store for another portion of alcohol. However, he did not have the funds to buy it, so, thinking that no one would notice his actions, the man grabbed a bottle of whiskey and ran out of the trading floor into the street. The seller and concerned visitors managed to catch up with the attacker and take away the stolen goods, after which the store administration contacted the police.

As a result of operational search activities, criminal investigation officers identified the suspect and detained him on the same day. He had previously been prosecuted for intentionally causing bodily harm. The involvement of the detainee in the crime committed is confirmed by seized recordings from video cameras and testimony of witnesses.— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.

A criminal case has been initiated against the suspect under Part 1 of Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“robbery”), he faces up to four years in prison.
