Hackathon «VR/AR Crimea — 2023» was held in Sevastopol: history, art, virtual reality

From March 18 to March 20, at the site of the digital education center for children “IT-cube. Gagarin” hosted the Interregional Hackathon “VR/AR Crimea – 2023”. This year it combined virtual reality technology, history and art.
The virtual and augmented reality hackathon has been held in Sevastopol for the 5th time. The organizer of the event is the children’s technopark «Kvantorium» Sevastopol. «VR/AR Crimea» brought together more than 100 participants in full-time and remote formats. This year, 13 cities joined it: Tver, Yekaterinburg, Kirovsky, Magnitogorsk, Miass, Blagoveshchensk, Tomsk, St. Petersburg, Volzhsky, Rostov-on-Don, Novocheboksarsk and Perm. Teams participated in two age categories (11-18 years old and over 18 years old).
The organizers offered tasks from real customers on four tracks: «Guide», «Art», «History» and «IT Crimea». The teams brought the exposition to life, generated ideas for improving the app, created an AR tour, and developed a game around the building, touching on different eras.
And in order to reboot, they watched movies, relaxed in the chill zone, danced, participated in a photo contest, stood in the bar, sang «Cuckoo» and reincarnated as detectives.
After two days of work, the participants submitted their projects for evaluation by experts, who determined the best in each track.
