Hatred and hostility on the Internet: a Sevastopol resident was fined for extremism

The prosecutor’s office of the Nakhimovsky district of Sevastopol conducted an investigation based on information from the Center for Combating Extremism of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
It was established that in August 2023, on the social network VKontakte, in a group about events and incidents in the city of Sevastopol, an 18-year-old young man publicly posted a comment aimed at inciting hatred and hostility towards persons united by origin and territory of residence . Based on this fact, the district prosecutor’s office opened a case of an administrative offense under Art. 20.3.1 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (incitement to hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity),” reported the press service of the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office.
Having considered the case materials, the Nakhimovsky District Court of Sevastopol fined the culprit 10 thousand rubles.
