He burned his neighbors because of “hostile relations.” Wild crime in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
A criminal case has been opened in Sevastopol against a 44-year-old local resident. The man is accused of attempted murder of his neighbor in a generally dangerous manner and the murder of her elderly parents (Part 3 of Article 30, paragraphs “a, e”, Part 2 of Article 105, paragraph “a, e” of Part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The investigative department for the Gagarinsky district established that on the night of March 2, a resident of a house on Korchagina Street, due to hostile relations with his neighbors, decided to set them on fire. The attacker climbed a stepladder, broke the apartment window, and threw several cans of flammable mixture and a fire source into the room.
However, the man was unable to complete his criminal intent aimed at causing death, since the arriving employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations localized the fire and evacuated the victims to a medical facility with burns of varying severity to the upper respiratory tract and torso— said the Investigative Committee.
A few days later, despite medical help, the couple, aged 70 and 71, died in hospital; their 47-year-old daughter is being treated.
During the investigation, all the circumstances of the tragedy and the events preceding it were established, and a number of forensic examinations were ordered.
The defendant in the criminal case was detained and taken into custody by the court. The arguments of the residents of the house, published in the media, about previously received complaints from citizens about the threatening behavior of the detainee will also be carefully studied in order to evaluate the actions of officials of the prevention system.
