CrimeaPRESS reports:

Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Saki region identified the driver who committed the fatal accident. This accident, which claimed the life of a cyclist, happened early this morning (at 5:30) on the Novoselovskoye – Saki highway.

During operational search activities, police identified the driver who fled the scene of the accident. He turned out to be a resident of the city of Evpatoria, born in 1964— reported the traffic police.

As the police clarified, the culprit of the accident did not choose a safe side interval and allowed a collision with a cyclist, born in 1972, who was moving ahead in the same direction. As a result of the accident, the cyclist was taken to a medical facility, where he died from his injuries without regaining consciousness.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds that in the event of a traffic accident, you must call the police and remain on the spot until they arrive. For leaving the scene of an accident in accordance with Part 2 of Art. 12.27 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation provides for liability in the form of deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to 1.5 years or administrative arrest for a period of up to 15 days.
