He was only 19… In Sevastopol, a memorial plaque was opened to the sailor — the hero of the Northern Military District

In Sevastopol, on the facade of the building of the Maritime College, a memorial plaque was erected to the graduate of the educational institution, the hero of the NVO, the sailor of the Novocherkassk large landing ship Yegor Tolmachev.

According to the information support department of the Black Sea Fleet, representatives of the command and military personnel of the landing ships brigade, students and teachers of the college, city authorities took part in the ceremony. The event ended with the passage of the guard of honor of the Black Sea Fleet.

Egor Tolmachev graduated from the Naval College in 2021, after which he entered the contract service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. He served at the Novocherkassk large landing ship and died in the Mariupol direction, saving his colleagues. By decree of the President of the Russian Federation of April 5, 2022, sailor Tolmachev was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage. Egor was 19 years old.
