Heat will affect the taste of Crimean wines — expert opinion
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Due to the abnormal heat, the grape ripening period has shifted at least two weeks earlier. This will probably affect the harvest in the following way: sugar will accumulate, but there will be no phenolic maturity yet. That is, with unripe seeds, there will be high sugars, so the wine will probably not be of very good quality.— he said TASS.
According to the head of the institute, due to this imbalance, the wine that will be made from the 2024 harvest will be light and not rich in various tannins.
Temperature records were broken in Simferopol on July 16, 17 and 18. Due to the abnormal heat, power grid failures began to occur, and many crops blossomed on the peninsula two weeks earlier.
