This weekend we will celebrate the New Year again, only in the old style. Most events in Crimea were dedicated to this holiday: concerts, master classes, tea parties, gastro evenings. There will also be quests and a meeting with Santa Claus in a cave, a “trip” through Ancient Greece and Rome. Tourist portal of Crimea talks about the schedule of events this weekend.
Concert «New Year’s festivities». January 13, South Coast, Livadia Palace.
The event is dedicated to the Old New Year. The festive mood will be created by artists of the Yalta branch of the Crimean State Philharmonic: People’s Artist of Ukraine Marina Semyonova, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Crimea Nazim Amedov, laureates of international competitions Alena Gutsalenko and Victoria Lunyakina. Honored Artist of Crimea Valentina Trikoz will play the piano.
The concert will start at 12:00. Admission is free and can be accessed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Concert “Orchestra. 2024.» January 13, Sevastopol, Center for Culture and Arts.
The Crimean Academic Symphony Orchestra will perform light, sparkling music by Johann Strauss, Franz Lehár, Jacques Offenbach and other composers. Honored artists of the Republic of Crimea Arzy Medzhidova and Anna Glushko, laureate of international competitions, graduate of the Vishnevskaya School of Opera Singing Georg Ennaris will sing. The program will involve the patron saint of 2024 – the dragon. His appearance on stage will be the culmination of the festive event.

Performance «In sorrow and in joy.» January 13, Sevastopol, art space “Depth” (B. Morskaya St., 23).
The audience will be presented with a mystical comedy about love, life and a happy death. A young couple moved into a “bad” apartment. And then the unexpected began… The performance was based on the play of the same name by Ekaterina Prilepskaya. She also directed the production. Cast: David Nikonov, Yuri Petelnitsky, Natalia Rybina, Karina Kopeikina, Irina Zemlak, Valentin Rassadin, Elena Tkacheva.

Concert “A carol has come to you.” January 13, Sevastopol, Center for Culture and Arts.
The musical event will be attended by the honored folk art group “Rus” named after. Savchenkova and his folk song studio, as well as the folk ensemble “Play Harmony!” All groups are from Sevastopol. They will perform carols that were sung in Rus’ on the eve of the old New Year. Visitors will not only hear our folklore heritage, but also see ancient rituals — they will be recreated at the concert.

Concert «Waiting for a Miracle». January 13, Yalta, theater named after. Chekhov.
The atmosphere of a New Year’s fairy tale will be created by laureates of international competitions and festivals, soloists of the Crimean Concert Association: Yakov Golovko, who is called the Crimean Frank Sinatra, soprano Marina German and pianist Alfiya Temirbulatova. Guests of the program will be laureate of international competitions Nika Ogneva and the Yalta classical dance ensemble “Fouette”.
The concert will feature famous winter melodies by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Evgeny Krylatov, Gennady Gladkov, Alexey Rybnikov and other composers.

This will be a solo concert by the Honored Artist of Ukraine and Sevastopol Tatyana Bartkova. She will be joined by laureate of international competitions Rafik Asadov and soloist of “Korabel” Natalia Ioffe. The exemplary dance ensemble “Ultramarine”, the exemplary pop dance ensemble “Impulse” and the instrumental ensemble “Capriccio” will perform their numbers. At the concert they will not only sing and dance, but will also remember the history of the old New Year and talk about the traditions of this holiday.

Events at the Tauride Chersonese Museum-Reserve (January 13 and 14).
Excursion “New Year’s stories in Chersonesos”. Participants will learn how the New Year was celebrated in Ancient Greece, Rome and Byzantium, and will also see the sights of the ancient polis. After the walk, they will be invited to take part in a master class on making a Christmas tree decoration, which they can take with them. Starts at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00. The duration of the program is 1.5 hours.
Master class “Archaeological sandbox”. Classes are designed for children 6-12 years old. They will learn the basics of the archaeologist’s profession in a playful way: they will get acquainted with the methods and methods of conducting excavations, learn new terms and try to extract “artifacts” at an impromptu excavation site. And not just remove them, but also clean them, find out their purpose and record them in a “field diary”.

Master classes at the Museum of Fish and Fisheries. January 13 and 14, Feodosia, VCT “Chaika”.
The museum will host two master classes in fine arts. On January 13, everyone will be able to create a watercolor drawing on the theme “Who is the star?” And if you want to master the pastel technique, there will be a “Tame Your Dragon” master class for you on January 14th.

A thematic excursion takes place almost the entire month of January in the museum, located in the former mansion of Fyodor Funk, manager of the estate of Prince Konstantin Gorchakov “Arkhaderesse”. The event is dedicated to the feat of the participants in the Sudak landing operation, which took place in January 1942. During the Great Patriotic War they showed incredible resilience, dedication and courage.

The concert will be given by the ensemble «Polychronion» — winner of the Grand Prix of the III International Festival-Competition «Scarlet Sails», laureate of the 1st degree of the international festival-competition «Firebird of Russia». The New Year’s beauty, hanging upside down, can be seen in the Tavrida cave. She was first dressed up and toys were securely attached to her. Visitors will be able not only to admire the Christmas tree, but also to complete logic puzzles, go through quests with team building elements, meet characters from speleological folklore and Santa Claus, who will reward the most active ones with gifts. A tour of the cave is also planned.
