Hero City Sevastopol takes over the patriotic baton «Memory of the people: in the name of peace»

The international project «Memory of the people: in the name of peace» is being implemented in Sevastopol, timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the breaking of the blockade of Leningrad. The purpose of the project is to remind posterity of the significance of the Great Patriotic War. The Hero City took over the patriotic baton from the Vladimir region. March 6 at the gymnasium No. 8 named. N. T. Khrustaleva met with a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, a resident of besieged Leningrad, a guide Olga Lavrentieva. The event was attended by Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science of the city Stanislav Feoktistov, teachers and students of the gymnasium.

According to Olga Lavrenteva, she admitted that it is the teacher who forms true patriotism and love for the Motherland, and the Year of the Teacher and Mentor declared by President Vladimir Putin is now of particular relevance.

We survived the blockade only because previous generations of teachers instilled in us boundless love for their country, collectivism, and mutual assistance. Whom the teacher brings up today — this will be the country tomorrow— shared a veteran of the Great Patriotic War.
