High-tech equipment for minimally invasive operations is now available at the Sevastopol Oncology Center
CrimeaPRESS reports:
At the Sevastopol Oncology Dispensary named after. A. A. Zadorozhny new modern equipment appeared. Now surgical treatment of patients with malignant neoplasms of the abdominal cavity, pelvis and other nosologies will be less invasive. It will also be carried out using 3D visualization, which gives the most realistic three-dimensional image of the operated area. This video system is the most advanced to date.
The equipment was purchased within the framework of the regional program “Fighting Cancer” of the national project “Healthcare”. Visualization in 3D mode is more efficient. The doctor evaluates the movements of the working part of the instrument in three-dimensional space and sees the location of the internal organs as they really are: with depth, length and shadows— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes oncologist and head of the oncology department of surgical methods of treatment of the oncology clinic Mikhail Ragozin.
The surgeon works using special glasses, which ensures a high standard of imaging, and the manipulations themselves become more precise. The laparoscopic volumetric imaging system transmits high-definition images to a 3D LCD monitor, maintaining focus at any depth of vision throughout the operation.
This method of surgical intervention minimizes the risk of blood loss and reduces the likelihood of developing infectious complications.
After such an operation, the patient has almost completely no postoperative pain syndrome, and the return to work capacity occurs in the shortest possible time. Life expectancy increases after removal of a malignant tumor,” emphasizes Mikhail Ragozin.
Within a month, seven complex operations have already been performed using this equipment with a successful outcome.
