Hired a tow truck and stole someone else's car. Case in Sevastopol

In Sevastopol, police detained a man suspected of stealing a car. The perpetrator turned out to be a 44-year-old local resident previously convicted of property crimes, who stole a vehicle to sell it for scrap.
It was established that an 18-year-old teenager had previously purchased a used Mitsubishi car worth 180 thousand rubles, but could not drive it because he had not received a driver’s license at that time. In this regard, his vehicle was parked in the courtyard of a high-rise building and over time acquired the appearance of an ownerless one. This is exactly what the attacker thought when he noticed a dirty foreign car, so he decided to secretly steal it. For this purpose, the man rented a tow truck and took the car to Simferopol, to a scrap metal collection point, where he received a little more than four thousand rubles for it. Having discovered that the car was missing, the young owner filed a complaint with the police.— the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol gave details.
As a result of operational search activities, employees of the criminal investigation department of the Russian Department of Internal Affairs in the Nakhimovsky district identified and detained the suspect. The investigative department opened a criminal case against the detainee under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft”), he faces up to five years in prison.
