In Simferopol, police detained a man suspected of committing a robbery. Earlier, a 36-year-old local resident turned to the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who said that an unknown man openly stole his mobile phone worth 10,000 rubles under the threat of using knives.
As the police found out, at night, near the liquor store, the applicant was relaxing with his friend. An unfamiliar guy approached them and demanded from the victim the money that their mutual friend supposedly owes him. After the refusal was received, the intruder, threatening with a kitchen knife, stole the applicant’s mobile phone and fled the scene of the crime. The victim immediately contacted the police, after which the patrol officers of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Simferopol detained the suspect in hot pursuit— said the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
The robber turned out to be a previously convicted (under a similar article) 26-year-old resident of Sevastopol, who is registered in the Rostov region. His involvement in the crime was confirmed.
A criminal case was initiated against the person detained by the investigator of OP No. 3 “Central” of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Simferopol under Part 2 of Art. 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery). The sanction of this article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to 10 years. The court chose a measure of restraint for the person involved — detention.
