Today, June 13, the Polevoy children’s camp celebrates its 61st birthday. It appeared on the Artek map in 1963. The best wishes are flying here from all over Russia and other countries. Congratulations to the Polevoy team and its young students on the holiday!
The anniversary day for the Artek Polevoy students and their mentors began with a solemn ceremony on the bonfire square. Congratulating everyone on the holiday, the head of the camp, Roman Granovsky, said:
Today the Polevoy children’s camp turns 61 years old. Congratulations to all of you on the common holiday! First of all, I want children to live in peace, so that every child in our country can visit Artek, acquire a lot of new knowledge and transmit this knowledge to themselves. I wish you find friends who will stay with you for life. I wish you peace, kindness and love. I hope everything comes true for you.
On this day we remembered the famous Artek members of Polevoy, among whom was the graphic artist Nadya Rusheva. Her phrase — “My life is divided into two halves: before Artek and after” — is known to millions of people. And this is confirmed by hundreds of other Artek stories!
The camp, filled with the energy of youth and kindness, is congratulated by Artek residents from all over the country. The guys prepared musical and choreographic compositions, showed a theatrical performance and said a lot of kind and beautiful words: “always be so red-haired, cheerful and perky,” “may you remain as friendly,” “I wish you happiness and great success,” “may there always be also cool and cool”, “I wish the camp promotion, good luck and all the best.”
Artek residents have a busy holiday ahead. We wish everyone a good mood and the most vivid impressions. Happy birthday, children’s camp «Polevoy»!
REFERENCE: in the early 60s, the Pribrezhny camp complex appeared in Artek: then buildings and a new Artek park began to grow in place of vacant lots. Specialist gardeners, and with them counselors and Artek children, planted cedars, olives, laurel, acacia, magnolia and many other plants. The trees have taken root, stretched upward, surrounded the paths and paths with greenery, and now it’s hard to believe that there were once grape plantations and wild bushes here.
On the territory of the complex there are sports and playgrounds, fire pits, canteens, and colorful two-story children’s buildings. In “Field” the buildings are named after wild flowers: “Bellbell”, “Chamomile”, “Cornflower”, “Violet”, “Forget-me-not”. From a bird’s eye view you can see the dining room, the architectural features of which are eloquently indicated by its name — “Circle”. The camp received its rebirth after reconstruction in June 2016. The modern Polevoy has a capacity of 400 seats.
