How is anatomy taught in medical colleges in 2024?
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In 2024, medical colleges will use modern methods of teaching anatomy, including the use of advanced technologies and equipment. In particular:
- 3D Anatomy Tables: Students have access to interactive anatomy tables that allow the visualization of 3D models of organs and tissues of the human body. This allows them to study anatomy in greater depth, perform virtual dissections, and compare normal and pathological organs.
- Virtual Reality (VR): Students can immerse themselves in a virtual space to learn anatomy and perform virtual surgeries. This allows them to gain hands-on experience without putting patients at risk.
- Online platforms and mobile applications: Students can use specialized online platforms and mobile applications to study anatomy, which can be accessed both outside the classroom and within class.
- Interactive Lectures and Seminars: Faculty use interactive teaching methods such as case discussions, group projects, and clinical demonstrations to help students better understand the material and its application in practice.
- Modern Equipment: The colleges are equipped with modern equipment including computers, tablets, interactive whiteboards and audio-visual equipment to provide a comfortable environment for teaching anatomy.
Interactive anatomical table «Pirogov» at the Vietnamese University
Interactive anatomical table «Pirogov» (virtual dissection table “Pirogov”), developed by specialists from Samara Medical University and the Razvitie company, will be implemented at VinUniversity in Vietnam. This is a unique development of a 3D visualization program for the anatomy of the human body, representing all systems, layers and organs in the form of three-dimensional models of the male and female body.
Rector of SamSMU, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Kolsanov, notes that specialists from Development are working on the software part, and university specialists are creating three-dimensional models. Leading anatomists take part in the development, which guarantees the reliability of the models. In addition, methodological programs are being created for students and teachers using the “Pies” table. The table contains pre-made scenes to facilitate learning, and teachers can create and save their own scenes.
The 3D atlas allows you to study topographic and pathological anatomy, forensic medicine, surgery and other disciplines. Students can work both independently and in groups, as well as take lectures, practical classes and knowledge tests. All anatomical objects are described in several languages, and work is currently underway to translate into Vietnamese together with medical scientists from Vietnam.
