How is that?! A resident of Sevastopol transferred more than two million rubles to scammers

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The victim of telephone intruders was a resident of Sevastopol, born in 1945. She lost over two million rubles.

It was established that a fraudster called the pensioner, introduced himself as an employee of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, and, under the pretext of protecting monetary savings, convinced him to transfer them to settlement accounts dictated by him. Following the instructions of the criminal, the woman transferred 2 million 275 thousand rubles in three transactions, and when she realized that she had become a victim of scammers, she contacted the police— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.

On this fact, a criminal case was initiated in the MIA of Russia for the Gagarinsky District under article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud”.

The police of Sevastopol urges to be as attentive and reasonable as possible when dealing with the unknown.

If they called you, introduced themselves as employees of a bank or law enforcement agencies and said that you had problems with your bank account, these are remote scammers. Be sure to tell your relatives, especially the elderly, about the precautions. Be careful and vigilant— recalled in the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
