How Kerch will celebrate City Day — a program of festive events

Like promised, we publish the program for celebrating the Day of the Hero City of Kerch. Note that the celebrations will stretch from September 9 (the City Day itself) to September 14.

Festivities will take place over several days. According to Tourist portal of Crimeaguests of the holiday are waiting for an auto festival, interactive platforms, master classes, concerts, an open day in museums, a souvenir fair, photo exhibitions and much more.

9th of September:

• Athletics relay race in honor of the 50th anniversary of Kerch being awarded the title of Hero City: at 7:00, Mayak village — Geroevskoye village.
• Motor rally «Roads of Glory», the construction of the flag of Kerch from the cars of the participants, the solemn raising of the flag of the city: at 9:00, Adzhimushkay village — pl. Lenin.
• Festive fair of products and souvenirs: during the day, pl. Lenin.
• Patriotic action «Colors of the native city», within which everyone will be able to tie ribbons in the colors of the Kerch flag on special nets stretched between pergolas: during the day, the architectural complex «Colonnade».
• Interactive platform «To the Glory of the Hero City», where residents and guests of Kerch will take part in painting a picture: during the day, the public zone «At Admiralteisky».
• Auto festival, where competitions in car audio and the loudest exhaust will be held, as well as an exhibition of tuned cars and a disco: 14:00-23:00, the territory of the Avtouchkombinat driving school (Heroev Stalingrad Highway, 23b). Entrance for spectators to the territory is free.
• Exhibition of masters of arts and crafts «Creative Quarter»: at 16:00, Mira Square.
• Photo exhibition «Kerch in the lens»: at 17:00, city embankment.
• Free admission to museums from 9:00 to 18:00: this is the Kerch Museum of Antiquities (Sverdlov St., 22), Lapidarium (R. Luxembourg St., 14/24), Art Gallery (Teatralnaya St., 36), Museum of the History of Kerch — Eltigensky landing (microdistrict Geroevskoye), Melek-Chesmensky mound (bus station).

10 September:

All-Russian exhibition-forum of folk art «On the banks of the Ancient Bosporus» — at 15:00, master classes in decorative, applied and fine arts — at 15:00, gala concert of the All-Russian Festival «Connecting the Shores» — at 17:00: Palace culture «Ship» (st. Ordzhonikidze, 88).

11 September:

All-Russian contest of photography and exhibition «Multinational Russia: the continuity of generations»: at 16:00, the cultural center named after. Bogatikov (street Sverdlov, 6).

September 13:

Kerch is called the eastern gate of the Crimea. She is the first to meet those who come from mainland Russia across the Crimean bridge. And it is also the oldest city in Russia: Kerch was the capital of the Bosporus kingdom and at that time was called Panticapaeum, as Mount Mithridates and the settlements of Mirmekiy, Heracles, Parthenius, Nymphaeum and others “tell” about. The city is included in the interregional tourist route «Golden Ring of the Bosporus Kingdom».
