How much do Russians need to save for their home? Years… And you won’t have to eat or drink

CrimeaPRESS reports:

If you ask an unprepared person where in Russia it is most difficult to save up for an individual house, he will answer — in the Moscow region. However, according to the results of a study conducted by the federal portal «WORLD OF APARTMENTS»«for 85 constituent entities of the federation, it turned out that Moscow and the Moscow region were not even included in the top ten regions where it takes the longest to save for your own cottage.

The analysis was carried out by comparing average salaries and prices for private houses. Information on the average monthly income of citizens was taken from the latest data from Rosstat, and average house prices were taken from Mirkvartir.ru’s own analytics. It was assumed that in order to acquire such real estate, the buyer would save his entire salary and would not go to the bank for a mortgage.

Dagestanis need to save the longest to buy a cottage – more than 20 years. Since house prices in the republic are high, and official incomes are low. The sentences in Chechnya are not much shorter – almost 19 years. Also included in the “long ten” are Sevastopol (17.4 years), Ingushetia (17.3 years), Krasnodar Territory (16.5 years), Crimea (16.1 years), St. Petersburg (15.6 years), Kaliningrad region (14.5 years), Karachay-Cherkessia (13.7 years) and Adygea (13.3 years). Moscow took 11th place in this ranking — you can buy a house in the capital after 12.7 years of saving your paycheck. This period is even shorter than in the Northern capital, but longer than in the Moscow region (11.9 years and 16th place on the list). Well, the lucky ones, for whom it is relatively easy to buy a house, live in the Russian North, the Far East, Siberia and other remote regions. The Arkhangelsk region turned out to be the champion: you have to live there for 3.4 years on a starvation diet or at the expense of relatives — and now you are the happy owner of a private house! The situation is similar for residents of the Kemerovo region (3.7 years), the Jewish Autonomous Okrug (3.9 years), the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (3.9 years), the Kurgan region (4 years), the Komi Republic (4 years), the Magadan region ( 4.7 years), Krasnoyarsk Territory (4.7 years), Tyumen Region (5 years) and the Republic of Khakassia (5.3 years). On average across the country, the period of saving for a house, the average price of which is 6,312,716 rubles, by saving the entire salary (76,604 rubles) is 6.9 years.

If we compare the results with the results of a similar study two years ago, we can see that the average savings period for a private house has decreased: in 2021 it was 8 years. This happened because home prices increased by only 25%, and wages by 46%, says Pavel Lutsenko, General Director of the federal portal “WORLD OF APARTMENTS.” – Muscovites and St. Petersburg residents will now have to save for 5 years less, residents of the Moscow region — 9 years less, Krasnodar Territory — almost 7 years, Kaliningrad region — 7.8 years, Sevastopol — more than 8 years. Thus, private houses in our country have become more accessible to the population.
