How Russia Day was celebrated in Sevastopol

Festive events dedicated to the Day of Russia took place in Sevastopol today. In the morning, the memorial of the heroic defense of Sevastopol in 1941-1942 was laid at the Eternal Flame.

For the 10th year Sevastopol celebrates the Day of Russia! For Sevastopol residents, this is one of the most significant and long-awaited holidays. It was Sevastopol in 2014 that showed an example of loyalty to the ideals of the Motherland. Recently, our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin said that he was confident that Russia had a good future. These are very sincere words. And very correct! Our faith in our country makes us all stronger— said the Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev.

After the laying ceremony, a motor rally took place. Columns of motorists proceeded through all districts of the city. Residents of the Gagarinsky district went across Admiral Oktyabrsky Street to the street. Pavel Korchagin; Nakhimovsky district — through the Trolleybus descent proceeded to the Ship side; the route of the inhabitants of the Leninsky district was laid along General Ostryakov Avenue to the 5th kilometer of the Balaklava highway; motorists from Balaklava drove to the intersection of Novikov and Krestovsky streets.

At 14:00 and 16:00, holiday concerts were held for residents and guests of the city on the summer stage of Primorsky Boulevard «Rakushka». The best creative teams of Sevastopol and the exemplary orchestra of the troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation took part in them. In addition, festive concerts were held today in open areas — in the square of the BRU named after. A. M. Gorky and on the summer stage of the Inkerman club.
