How was the first day of voting in the Russian Presidential elections in Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The first day of voting in the Russian presidential elections is over. By evening, the national average was 31.67% (data from the Russian Central Election Commission). The record for the first day of voting was set by the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug — 63.66%.
Crimea voted at the level of “about 30%”. Sevastopol showed less activity — slightly above 20% (excluding DEG).
There were some violations on the first day of the elections. According to the CEC, one and a half hundred ballots were spoiled. Thus, in Rostov-on-Don and Karachay-Cherkessia, violators poured ink into ballot boxes, and brilliant green into ballot boxes in Simferopol, Novosibirsk and Moscow. In addition, in the capital, at a polling station in Maryino, Moscow, a pensioner set fire to a voting booth.
The violators explained their action by saying that “they were promised money and other rewards.” According to the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, “this is not ordinary hooliganism, but with elements of terrorism,” in which a “trace from abroad” is visible. The Central Election Commission emphasized that violations will not affect the elections.
The violator in Simferopol is a 31-year-old woman. It is possible that she became a victim of scammers. Which, however, does not exempt you from responsibility. Investigators of the Sledkom opened a criminal case on the fact of obstruction of the exercise of electoral rights or the work of election commissions (Article 141 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
It was established that this afternoon, a 31-year-old resident of the peninsula, while at the polling station on Kechkemetskaya Street, carried brilliant green in a juice bag and poured it into the ballot box. An inspection of the scene of the incident was carried out, the citizen was taken to the unit of the Republican Investigative Committee for interrogation, establishing all the circumstances of the crime and the events preceding it— reported the Investigative Committee.
Let us add that the incident was recorded at the 339th polling station in the Crimean capital. The ballots, according to the head of the Election Commission of Crimea, Mikhail Malyshev, were not damaged. It was KOIB and the scanner became a kind of shield for them.
No other serious violations were recorded during the first day of voting in the Russian Presidential elections in Crimea. The howl of Ukrainian public pages and other “democratic resources” about “pens with disappearing ink,” “stuffing of ballots in batches,” and “forced voting” are fakes.
