“I have a knife with me, I decided: well, you won’t take me that easily.” Conflict and stabbing in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Sevastopol, the police completed a preliminary investigation into a criminal case of intentionally causing harm to the health of a local resident.
Employees of the inquiry department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Balaklava region completed the inquiry into the criminal case initiated under clause “c” of part 2 of art. 115 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Intentional infliction of minor harm to health.”
During the preliminary investigation, it was established that in the summer of this year, on one of the streets in Balaklava, a sudden conflict arose between a 40-year-old local resident, previously repeatedly convicted of property crimes, and a random passer-by. During the argument, the man took a knife from his trouser pocket and stabbed the stranger in the forearm. Having received an injury, the 31-year-old victim held his opponent and did not allow him to escape until the arrival of the police, who were called by eyewitnesses of the incident— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
Police officers detained the suspect and seized the crime weapon – a folding tourist knife.
The accused did not admit his guilt in causing intentional harm to health with the use of a knife. Currently, the materials of the criminal case with the indictment approved by the prosecutor’s office have been sent to the court for consideration. The sanction of the incriminated article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to two years.
