Respondents who specifically waited until the new year to look for a job often noted that, in their opinion, the beginning of the year is the best time for changes in terms of favorable salary offers (27%). Russians often said that in this way they would like to start life from scratch (25%), they planned their search because of the promise they made to themselves to definitely change their job (24%), and also that at the beginning of the year the motivation for change is higher than at other times (21%). Another 9% of respondents noted the reason as the low level of competition in the labor market.

Interestingly, the main reason for waiting for the new year for IT specialists was the desire to start a new life (35%), employees in the automotive business had better salary offers (38%), and education workers more often noted high motivation at the beginning of the year (29% ).
