I overheard a conversation between passengers: in Dzhankoy, a taxi driver faces prison time for stealing money

In Dzhankoy, a criminal investigation has been completed against a 26-year-old local resident accused of stealing money. According to investigators, the man, while working as a taxi during the day, gave rides to young people whose cars had broken down. During the trip, the man overheard a conversation about how money in the amount of 30 thousand rubles was left in the armrest of the broken car.
The attacker admitted: after driving the passengers to the address, he returned to their car, opened the passenger door, and took the money.
The materials of the criminal case were sent to the prosecutor’s office of the city of Dzhankoy for approval of the indictment. Currently, the suspect has been chosen as a preventive measure in the form of a recognizance not to leave the place. The suspect may face imprisonment for up to five years— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
