Illegal possession and transportation of cannabis: a resident of the village of Sovetsky was caught red-handed

As part of the ongoing operational and preventive operation “Drunk Driver,” inspectors of the road patrol service of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Sovetsky District identified the fact of transportation of narcotic substances on a large scale.
While on duty by employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate on the street. In the Black Sea village of Sovetsky, a taxi service car was stopped, driven by a 33-year-old resident of Simferopol, who was transporting a 56-year-old resident of the Bakhchisaray district. During a visual inspection of the car interior, the passenger had a black backpack at his feet. When asked by the police whether there were prohibited items, the passenger said that in the backpack there was a package with a narcotic substance weighing about 500 grams— reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.
The seized substance was sent for examination, the results of which confirmed that the seized drug was cannabis (marijuana) weighing 429.42 g (in terms of dried substance).
Based on this fact, the investigator of the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Sovetsky district opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Art. 30 — part 4 tbsp. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Attempted illegal sale of narcotic drugs on a large scale). If proven guilty in court, he may be sentenced to imprisonment for up to twenty years.
The man was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention.
